'My Name Is Recycleman' Children's Book

More about this book 

My mission is to publish the Recycleman children's book (My name is Recycleman) so it will augment the experience for the children who attend the Recycleman show., This book can also be used in any child care or home setting as a recycling resource as the book highlights the 5 main items that I try to teach children about recycling in the show. 

This book is the theme song to the Recycleman show which you will be able to listen to in the promotional video below. It was written a couple of years ago and only within the last 12 months, did I have the idea to tunr it into a childrens book for everyone to read. The book has been wonderfully illustrated by Leanne Allen for the Bear With Us Productions team who has masterfully created these pages that really compliment the song. 

Now, child care centres will be able to introduce Recycleman a few weeks before I arrive, which will increase the enthusiasm the kids will express when I arrive for the show. It will help build on their knowledge of recycling before I get there, which in turn, will then allow me to go further into more complex concepts and how we are connected with this planet during the show.

More about myself

I have been in children's entertainment for over 8 years now. Prior to starting Recycleman, in a previous role at my capacity, I was coaching over 300 different children every week and over the coarse of that position, I had coached and entertained 1000's of children. This brought me a tremendous amount of knowledge in how to effectively engage this critical demographic in various learning environments . 

It was in this role, that I learnt that in the first 5 years of a child's development, they will aquire 80% of their personality and intellect. This information had such a profound impact on me. It made me realise that if we are genuinely trying to improve the planets sustainability for future generations, it then makes so much sense to focus on educating children to look after the planet, after all, one day they will have to. So, if we are failing to do this for them then we are not giving them the lessons they will need to carry out this role. 

Knowing how much of an impression I am leaving them with after each show, it has brought me so much joy over the last few years performing at child care centres, kindergartens, schools, OSHC and events across South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales. I want to deeply thank you for help, big and small, in making this campaign a success. 

So the total of whole project will be over $8000 while the funding goal is only $5000. If we are able to achieve the $5000 then we will aim for $8000 as a stretch goal where, if reached, an extra bonus will be included in all purchases. 

The Illustrators 

First we have the illustrator team who really gave this book life. I used the team at Bear With Us Productions. They were a group of brilliant illustrators, that have really done a fantastic job at creating this book. This was $3300

The Publisher

Paradigm Print Media are the printing company I have chosen to go ahead with to publish the book. Upon meeting them, being a local publisher and seeing the range of recycled paper stock they have on hand and how dynamic there skillset was, I knew that they were the ones to go ahead with. $3700 for 1000 copies. 

Postage

For each delivery, there will be a tracking number provided. Shipping will be between $6-$8 depending on what tier is chosing so is a considerable cost. All teirs have delivery included :D
