Student's can't be what they can't see. The "See It. Be It." initiative aims to connect Australian students with relatable entrepreneurial role models from their own backyard.

We know students are interested in entrepreneurship. 57% of incoming UTS students last year said they wanted to pursue entrepreneurship while at University of Technology Sydney, which has been increasing year-on-year according to Murray Hurps, Director of Entrepreneurship.

The challenge is that in Australia, entrepreneurship is not formally included in the primary school curriculum as a standalone subject. The Australian Curriculum does include some related concepts through "General Capabilities" like Critical and Creative Thinking, and in learning areas like Economics and Business, but these are primarily focused on Years 5-6 and lack specific entrepreneurship focus.

Student's shoudn't have to wait until they go to university to learn about entrepreneurship.

Our Impact & Targets

Our innovative entrepreneurship curriculum is currently enriching students' lives in select schools, but there are over 6,000 primary schools and more than 4 million primary and secondary school students across Australia that have no access to age-appropriate entrepreneurial education materials.

The First Pivot "Be It. See It." campaign is our pathway to reaching all these students by equipping educators and schools with resources that seamlessly integrate entrepreneurial education into daily learning.

Our initial target is to raise $35,000 to create the first book and video in the series, So You Want To Be An Entrepreneur?,

enabling us to support:

• 4,000,000 students with the video
• 6,237 primary schools will receive a free copy of the printed book

With an ambitious goal of $75,000, we can significantly expand our reach by:

• Launching our second featured entrepreneur story showcasing Georgie Percival and her journey with Mamave
• Inspiring students through a relatable success story of a recent graduate who transformed her pharmaceutical science degree into a thriving side business
• Providing schools with fresh, engaging content that demonstrates real-world applications of education
• Building momentum for strategic partnerships in the education sector
• Creating sustainable growth through increased visibility and impact

Why do we need the funds?

With your help, we can take over a year of ideation and creation and turn it into a beautifully printed book and a professionally created video that will have a real impact on the lives of students in this country.

The funds raised in this campaign will go towards:

• A large print run of physical books of So You Want To Be An Entrepreneur? The Story Behind Zero Plastics Australia. (40%)

• The creation of a short, think TedTalk length, video that showcases Australian entrepreneurs. (55%)

• Fees and costs to cover the Pozible campaign including production of rewards (5%)
