Bside Terror Squad introduces The Badlands...

Theres a funky smell coming from Byron Bay this month. It resembles something like a whiff of sweaty rock n roll combined with a sweet taste of something you haven’t experienced before, but know instantly that you’re an addict. 

The Badlands are on the verge of something big. No. Lets go all out with the hype and say stratospheric. Why? Because its something bloody goooood. Funky. Sweaty. Addictive…

With a loyal following from their base in Byron Bay, these boys have got what every band needs. A serious level of sex appeal, combined with a lethal dose of talent, grunt and rock n roll vitality. 

Their new EP is set to blow the top off the musical jam jar and their live performances are testimony to their ability to not just entertain, but intoxicate the punters. Drink and drugs aside, you’ll emerge on a magic carpet of hypertensive mosh energy after you’ve witnessed these lads perform and listened to their latest recordings. 

They just played at this years Mojo Burning festival in Brisbane to a rapturous crowd and have a string of live dates coming up. You wanted to be there. You want to be here. This is where it’s happening. This is where they’re launching this rock n roll baby into space. This is where you’ll have heard it first when the rest of Australia jumps on this particular dirty, grunge infested train of a bandwagon. Be here. Witness it. Get involved.

"We’re all set to launch our new EP, which has been tracked and recorded through Studio 9 in Byron Bay. 

We’re a grass roots band. A bunch of hard working dudes, who flog it all day every day. And then we go and throw what’s left of us out onto the stage and try to rock your world. We love it. It’s why we get up in the morning. But we’re trying to get to the next stage. 

We know that this one is gonna be big. It’s our best stuff by far and our fans have been loosing it over the new tracks live. We’re that pumped to get it out to you, but we need some help to push us over the last line."

We need to raise a crucial $4000 to help finalise what we've put down for you guys. 

The E.P. has been tracked, recorded and produced but we need to get together the cash to finish the mastering and get the physical product made.

That includes getting the E.P. pressed, the album artwork made up and looking as sick as it sounds. 

We need to invest in a publicist, to help us get our tracks out there and onto the airwaves, as well as helping to promote where you guys and the rest of the world can get a hold of our music. We want people to know what we've done. We're pumped on it and truely believe that you will be too.

We also need to accompany the E.P. with relevant merchandise so that when you're at our gigs, or checking us out online, you've got something cool to take home with you. That includes CD's, Vinyl, Mens and Ladies Tees, Badges, Stickers.... it all costs money to get it out there. 

Besides co-ordinating our full on working lives with trying to keep focussed and creating something we're proud of with our music, there are a number of challenges we face in trying to get over this last hurdle.

We really need to get this campaign out there, so that people know about it. It's super hard to make our voices heard in amongst everything else that's going on out there in the music industry, as well as getting people to believe in what we're offering. We really feel that this E.P. has the makings of something you guys want to hear. But getting people involved is a challenge in itself.

We absolutely froth on our live shows. It's been a hell of a ride to get us to the point we're at now, and our fans and friends have been epic in supporting our band. We want to make this band into something we can do full time. The only way we can do that is by creating something marketable. Something that people can choose to invest in and take home with them. It's our dream to be able to channel our energy into making The Badlands something full time, but we need for people to want to buy into what we have to offer if that dream is going to become a reality.

We're genuine when we say we're so stoked on the support we've had from our crew so far. We couldn't do any of it without you guys. We want to take this musical journey to the next level and we want you on board with us. We believe it's got the legs to be something bigger than we started out believing. 

We want to thank every single one of you for any support you can throw at our campaign. We couldn't do it without you, so every time you can get on board our pledges, share our story or come to our gigs, we're absolutely pumped.
