“The Forgotten Temple” is a mixed documentary about how the founder of a temple in Penang brought the statue of god of prosperity from one temple to another. The documentary will show footages of the temple, some worship rituals, some scene reenactment of how the founder search for god of prosperity and interview with the founder.

"The Forgotten Temple" is a story about the god of prosperity named “Cai Bo Xing Jun” (财帛星君) that is very rarely seen or found. This god statue is only found in two temples in Malaysia, one located in Penang and another in Johor. This god of prosperity was found in 1978 by a few young men who eventually founded the temple in Penang. This might indirectly inspired the Chinese into the finding of god of wealth. Therefore, this documentary will include:

• The major incident that happened during that time
• The lives of the founders before and after finding god of prosperity
• What inspired them to start searching for god of prosperity
• The journey of bringing the god of prosperity to a new temple
• The challenges faced by the founders while searching for god of prosperity

First challenge we foresee was being not familliar with the area in Penang or the local dialect (Hokkien). Therefore, our crew have found a local that grows up in Penang and fluent in Hokkien to bring us around during the shooting. 

Second challenge would be the weather that is not suitable for outdoor shooting. If this is the case, we might need to prolong our shooting days and cut some scenes from the documentary.

Another big challenge for us is that the temple we are documenting on is located in Penang, which is a 5 hours drive from where we stay. We would need to travel there by car and find a suitable accomodation for our crew to stay throughout the shooting period. Hence, we need kind support from the public to fund us in this project. 

With your fundings, we will be able to eliminate some problems and have better work quality.
