Sometimes you just got to take life by the horns and tour to Adelaide Fringe.

Three Blind Mice made it's debut at the Melbourne Fringe Festival in 2016 where it was greatly received - even being nominated for a Fringe Fesitval Best Live Performance Award (crazy, we know) and we're having a bit of a hard time letting go of this gem of a show, so we've decided to tour to Adelaide Fringe!

In early 2016 we three best friends (Victorian College of the Arts graduates Ruby Johnston, Benjamin Nichol and Izabella Yena) decided that we wanted to make a show. But not just any show. We wanted it to have purpose. We wanted people to have fun. We wanted people to learn. And we also wanted to dress up as giant mice.

From these simple ideas we worked endlessly to co-devise Three Blind Mice. The show follows Shaz, an agoraphobic hoarder who hasn't let her house in five years. Life for her is a routine of organised indoor activities for the single woman who is sick and tired of waiting for life to throw her a bone. That is until she is faced with the ultimate challenge... a rodent infestation. Shaz is no longer alone. And the mice aren’t going anywhere.

We wanted audiences to squeeze through the mouse-hole of this satirical comedy following the life of Shaz, battling an infestation of anthropomorphic mice. An allegory for Australia’s treatment of Asylum Seekers, this contemporary work is perfect for a young audience venturing into the worlds of Australian Politics and Contemporary Theatre.

Three Blind Mice is proudly in collaboration with Outer Eastern Asylum Seeker Support Network who raise money for the Lentara Asylum Seeker Project.

Our Adelaide Fringe season at The Bakehouse Theatre begins on February 27th, with a show every night at 9pm till March 4th! Check us out on the Fringe website - https://www.adelaidefringe.com.au/fringetix/three-blind-mice

How The Funds Will Be Used

Touring a show is such a privilege and very rewarding. However it's also a bit expensive and none of us have super wealthy relatives who are prepared to suddenly adorn us with monetary riches. Alas.

The money we hope to raise with your kind and generous help will be going directly to venue hire in Adelaide (we're at this awesome theatre called 'The Bakehouse' - expect heaps of instagrams), transporting our incredible set (shoutout to our designers Joe and Helene), Fringe registration (cause, like, we gotta perform, ya' know?) and accommodation in Adelaide (even actors need to sleep sometimes)

No donation is too small and we appreciate ALL your support - be it financial or emotional!

The Challenges

Being fresh faced recent graduates, we're all super excited to be taking on this adventure! We're also bloody terrified.

Like, what if no one comes to our shows? Will the Adelaidian people like us? What if we loose everything? How on earth are we going to transport A COUCH in Ben's classic yet somewhat unrealiable Nissan Pulsa? What if the tech guy doesn't show up and Izabella suddenly has to call the show? Will reviewers be kind/come at all? What if we forget the show and Ruby has to improvise for 15 minutes? WHAT IF THE CAR BREAKS DOWN?

But a part from all this, we're pretty confident everything will go according to plan.
