‘Unlikely’ is a story about love, friendship, and the challenges of growing up. It follows three friends navigating a tricky group assignment, and even trickier personal lives. In their attempt to make a short film about romance, the young friends look back on their own lives and past loves, only to recall disasters. Their film project is looking bleak, and their chance of finding love? It seems pretty unlikely.

CAST AND CREW

Born and raised in the deepest depths of the Inner West underground, the ‘Unlikely’ duo Michael Restifo and Sam Squillacioti were quite simply destined to make films together. Their first two directorial efforts date back to high school, where they lugged around their unwilling school friends only to their own dismay. Now currently excelling at their film and media arts course at UTS and equipped with a dedicated cast and crew, they seek to fulfil the potential of this up and coming short film, Unlikely! Third time’s a charm!

Lily Sommer is a writer currently studying a Bachelor of Communications, majoring in Creative Writing. Following the publication of her debut novel in 2015, she now writes in a variety of forms and styles, focusing mainly on longer fiction and working as a freelance writer of creative nonfiction.

Kerim is a young creative hoping to expand his skills and experience with writing, acting and creating. He’s performed across various stages in plays such as ‘Lord of the Flies’ and performed at NIDA as apart of the first cast of ‘The Pineapple War’. He hoped to continue pursuing his art and become a respected name in the story telling industry.

Eleni started acting at age 8, joining youth community theatre groups in her local area. Her thirst to be on stage and on screen was enhanced in High school within her school drama class and throughout her HSC. Eleni’s HSC drama group piece was fortunate enough to be chosen for the 2017 HSC Drama showcase Onstage. She has also had work shortlisted for Tropfest JR.

Olivia Zdrilic is a young, aspiring comedic actress. In the past, Olivia has worked on stage productions such as ‘Property of the Clan’, ‘The Crucible’ and ‘Lord of the flies’. Venturing out into film, Olivia also participated in the short film ‘The real life of Harvey Law’, aiding in hair, make up and some on screen mini roles. In the future, Olivia hopes to create and act in comedic screen plays.
