Thanks for stopping by to help us raise the funds to open our shop.  We are Browns Cookie Bar rebranded to Hoops & Cookies and we are opening a shop.  We believe that the combination of delicious treats and a passion for sports can make positive waves in our community. Our journey began in 2011 when we baked our first cookie to satisfy a craving. But what started as a simple indulgence quickly turned into a means to support our kids' basketball ventures. As our cookies gained popularity, we realized that we had the potential to do something more.

Fast forward to 2020, and we became official, we registered as a home-based council kitchen under the name of Browns Cookie Bar, but we knew that we were more than just a cookie business. We wanted to bring more creative and unique cookie products to the market while building links with our other side hustles to create what is today now known as Hoops & Cookies.

Now, we're ready to take the next step and we are opening up retail space where we can grow our brand and expand on our product offerings.  Situated in the South East of Melbourne on the corner of High St, and Sladen St in Cranbourne we will establish our first location.  Our business will aid in the activation of the upper section of High St, Cranbourne, helping to:

• Increase foot traffic: Our business can attract more customers to the area, which will increase foot traffic in this section of the main street where it is located. This, in turn, can help increase visibility for other businesses in the area and help drive more customers to them.
• Create a community hub: providing a place for people to gather, socialize, and enjoy a sweet treat. By offering a welcoming atmosphere and a sense of community, our business can help activate this section of the main street.
• Add vibrancy: Our business will add visual interest to the main street by creating an inviting storefront and displaying a fresh clean design that will help make the area more attractive and visually appealing to both locals and visitors.
• Support local economy: We will endeavour to source ingredients and supplies from local businesses, we can help support the local economy and strengthen the community. This will help create a positive ripple effect that benefits other businesses in the area and help activate the main street as a whole.

OUR PRODUCTS

We specialize in making cookie bars with some of your favourite flavour combos in addition to unique flavour smashups. But that's just the beginning. We will also expand to offer:

• Levelled up cookie creations
• Drinks where you can “dunk” that cookie
• Products perfect for celebrations and events i.e. cakes and dessert bars
• Variations on cookies and cream ice cream
• Collaborations with other small food businesses to bring new and exciting products to our customers
• + Creative products that we haven't even thought of yet

But we're not just in this for the cookies.  We believe that Hoops & Cookies has the potential to make a difference in our community. We're not just a cookie business, we're a social enterprise that cares about mental health and wellbeing, empowering females in sport, and supporting local talent and small businesses. THE FITOUT

To achieve our goals, we're launching a Pozible campaign to raise funds to fit out our retail space which will include:

• Resurfacing the floors (concrete grind and seal)
• Partitioning the space to create 3 main areas; hygiene safe commercial kitchen, storage space and shop front including construction and cabinetry work
• Plumbing including installation of a grease trap
• Electrical work including connecting 3 phase
• Painting
• Aesthetics including feature walls, showcasing our community initiatives, signage and lighting
• TV’s and signage

In addition to the fit out we need to cover the following costs:

• Custom packaging
• Equipment and supplies - We need to upgrade our equipment and invest in high-quality supplies to ensure that we can meet the demands of increased production requirements including but not limited to: electrical dough sheeter, fridge/freezers, larger planetary mixers, commercial ovens, stainless steel benches, sinks and shelving, baking trolleys, dishwasher, microwaves, blenders, POS machines, ice cream machine, baking trays, utensils, bowls etc
• Uniforms

TARGET: $40,000 - $50,000

This is an ALL or NOTHING campaign meaning if we don't hit out $40,000 funding target in the next 30 days we don't get anything.  So we have set our initial target well below to ensure that we can gain access to funds if we fall short.  

See below for a breakdown of our budget.  Please note at this stage we have received some approximate quotes and ballpark figures for the required services.  Hence the $40K - $50K figure.  

This figure does not include equipment, packaging, uniforms, inventory etc.  We would be looking at an additional $40,000.  Any additional funding acquired will go towards the acquisition of such items i.e. commercial equipment such as ovens, fridge/freezers, dishwasher, planetary mixer, under counter refrigeration, ice cream machine, blenders, microwaves, baking trolleys, stainless benches, shelving and sinks.

🚀 $20,000 GOAL

We set this goal lower than our funding target to open access to the funding and give ourselves a realistic chance at securing funding.  This will get us in a position to partition the shop, do the floors and connect 3 phase electricity.

🚀🚀 $30,000 STRETCH GOAL 

This will enable us to complete the form such as plumbing, construction and electrical work for the shop putting us in a position of actually looking like a commercial outlet.

🚀🚀🚀 $40,000 STRETCH GOAL

This would be unbelievable to achieve this target giving us the confidence that we will actually pull this off.  This would enable us to pull off the

This is the best-case-scenario, we raise the required funds to ensure that we meet the requirements of fitting out the shop including any unexpected expenses.
