"Pelican Dreams" is an exciting independent film production by a group of up-and-coming South Australian filmmakers. The talented production crew are a group of university film graduates that have produced several polished short films over the past few years and are now excited by the challenge of a feature film project.
The story...
Embracing South Australia, both the peculiarity of its characters and the natural beauty of its rural landscapes, the story takes place in Adelaide's eastern suburbs. Delving into the lives of a group of close yet strangely dysfunctional friends tinkering on the brink of imaginative meltdown. Ed abruptly discovers that the girlfriend of Flynn, his best friend, is pregnant, with his child. So Ed kidnaps Flynn in a journey that goes as far across South Australia as it does into the two friend's manic desperateness to avoid facing their pressing realities.
Where your donations go?
The coastal town of Fisherman's Bay with its stretching salt flats, rolling sand dunes and rocky coastlines will not only feature in the film but will be home for the crew for a significant period of the shooting. We will need to get our crew down to the mid-north and feed them as we shoot a significant portion of our film. We need to pay for equipment hire to achieve the style of film we're looking for, which is based on films such "Gerry" and "Garden State", as well as essential features such as make-up, wardrobe and props.
