Hey everybody!
Well, a big thank you to everybody who has pledged so far! We made it! But more help is needed, so don't slow down now! I'm bringing out a new album entitled 'Salvation' in 2014 (in time for the tour), and I need some extra $s to help with production costs, so please, keep the pledges coming! 'Salvation' is mostly tracked, but needs a few extra touches added, and needs to be mastered and pressed (about $2000 worth of stuff still to do). I'm really excited to announce that my music project of 7 years now, The Boy Who Spoke Clouds, has been asked to play the 'Fading Trails Traveling Festival' in the Netherlands which transpires over three shows on Jan 31/Feb 1/Feb 2, 2014. I'm half-Dutch, and haven't set foot in the Netherlands since I was a baby! I am so excited at the prospect of playing my music in a country that is a home I have no memory of.
The festival itself is named after the 'Magnolia Electric Co.' album of the same name. Jason Molina, the songwriter of 'Magnolia Electric Co.' and the legendary 'Songs:Ohia', passed away in March of this year, and this festival has been setup in honour of the great man who has been a hero of mine for more than a decade.
I've completed two international tours (both in the US) and two national tours here in Australia, and have experienced the tough financial context that all independent artists face when trying to make a tour work. Without some funding, it's next to impossible to break even. That's where the crowd-funding phenomena has changed things for us. Now YOU can help bridge this gap and encourage more amazing and obscure talent to make waves in our global music community. It will only take a small amount of pledges for me to reach my goal of $1500 which will cover my airfare.
I've already been offered some good financial guarantees for these three festival shows and one extra show in a church in Middelburg. I'm hoping to expand these four dates into a mini-tour of both the Netherlands and Belgium over a 2.5 week period.

How The Funds Will Be Used
All of the funds raised will go towards my airfare. If I go over $1500, I'll put extra money towards travel & accommodation expenses while over there. If I exceed $2000, I'll put all extra money toward the pressing of my new album, 'Salvation' coming out in January.
The Challenges
The biggest obstacle I'm facing is, as always, the financial hurdle I must leap to make this tour possible. If you guys can help me make $1500, I'm confident this tour won't send me broke!
