The powerpoint presentation is ready.

PARTICULATE MATTERS is Oddbody's debut full-length performance work. It arose from nearly a year of independent and self-funded creative development and research. The show takes the form of a conference, interrogating the hierarchy of knowledge, the rituals of mingling and the importance of perspective. The self-devised work the juxtaposes the mundane and the grandiose, the everyday and the existential, the efficient and the utterly useless. The conference, umm...show, will take place at Ross House on Flinders Lane, a four-story building housing some of Melbourne's most conscientious not-for-profit organisations, and Italian lessons for beginners.

How The Funds Will Be Used

The creative development of this work has been self-funded for nearly a year.
Oddbody works in immersive, site responsive ways, making the environment and design crucial for how the work is presented, received and engaged with.
Therefore, the funds we need will be used to cover the following expenses:
-- venue hire
-- sound and light design and equipment
-- light professional wear, conference material and nibbles (grain waves, mini bruschetta, scorched almonds, green apples, etc).

The Challenges

Well, I suppose we could find that creating work without an artistic director is impossible. Or maybe we'd discover that immersive theatre - like modernism - is well and truly dead. Then we'd have to do post-immersive theatre. Also, unpaid artistic work - while perhaps good for freeing the soul - is hard on the bank account. There... that's three challenges. Also the keynote speaker might never show up.

certifiably odd body

This is getting redundant... You get a Facebook shout out. Your name and logo, as an official partner, will feature in the conference kit. You get 50% off one ticket to PARTICULATE MATTERS. And lastly, you get your name incorporated into the body of the conference...umm, show itself. It's theatre; we'll make it work.

electrifyingly odd body

You are our hero. For that, the six of us will serve as wait staff at one event that you host in 2015. We are a very particular sort of wait staff, it's part functional and part performative. It's so exciting and cutting edge. You'll love it! Oh, and all those other pedestrian gifts listed above.
