The Project

On 6th October 2012, I will be burning off all my stand-up comedy material in a one-night-only show, as part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival. The show will take place at 5.30pm at Station 59, 59 Church Street, Richmond. Entry will be free.

The show will be recorded and released unedited as a live album, available to download for free.

If it goes well, it should be a great album. If it bombs, it'll be an album of me bombing.

Those who have seen me perform before will know what to expect. I will be performing 30-45 minutes of emotionally driven, offbeat comedy, in which I attempt to find the humour in subjects as dark and diverse as the horrors of war, post-traumatic stress and sexual dysfunction while also tackling relatively lighthearted topics like compassion, toothache and drop bears.

As I will be performing and recording practically all of my written material to date, I don't want to give away too much in advance, but here's a video preview of the kind of thing you can expect...

The Plan

The cost of venue hire and promotion is $75. Like most comedians, I have no money or source of income. Please consider contributing in order to help make this happen. I am only asking for $75, but I receive nothing unless that minimum target is reached.

Anyone contributing $5 or more will receive a CD copy of the album, exclusive to contributors. Anyone contributing $20 or more will also be thanked by name in the album's credits. Any money I receive above the $75 will be spent on vodka and cokes to be consumed by me on the night of the performance.

Cheers,

Alan Driscoll
