Alana Hoggart

AMoéR is a Butoh inspired physical theatre show. It is a story, reminiscent of romeo and Juliet; two lovers who experience love at first sight. They are forced to deal with the distractions of their cultures, lives, and their own insecurities. These lovers face the masks that they themselves have created. Using the body to explore communication and the idea of truly being open and honest with another person; the performers will entice the audience into a weird oceanic other world, delving deep into the psyche of star crossed lovers.

This show is part of Eight Wing Theatre Co. first season in Melbourne, After an incredible inaugural season in Brisbane with the highly successful Lightning in a Kettle, we are bringing our Butoh madness to the theatre scene in Melbourne.

The money you pledge will go to funding our Venue, the Collingwood Underground Theatre. This exciting venue is a disused car park which the Neighbourhood House uses as a labyrinth of artistic projects. Your money not only supports our emerging art, but the Collingwood Community also.

Our other funding in mostly inkind support from various sources for example are getting inkind support for marketing and promotion from Hagan Fuller (Graphics Deisgner). We also have funds from the sucess of our previous show which we are investing in this production.
