Alannah Weir

This project is extremely dear to me. I want to tell you how it all started:

In 2011 I joined the band 'Kids Without Bikes' where I met Joe Sollena, who has since become an important collaborator in my solo music and who I wrote the song 'Silver' with before we disbanded last year. After the end of Kids Without Bikes I decided it was time to work on my own music and I just couldn't let the song go. While putting together a list of songs I most wanted to record, Silver just kept coming to mind. Not long after Joe spoke to me about recording the song without knowledge that I was in the process of recording my own music.
I took this as a sign and asked him if we could do it for the EP I was working on. With Joe on board recording drums and Guitars the song was coming to life again. Originally I had thought I would use one of my other songs to put forward as a single and music video. However once again Silver just kept leaping out at me and after the final mix was sent to me it was obvious that it was going to show me as an artist more completely than the other songs I had been working on.

So I quickly set out to find an idea for the music video. Originally I was going to be completely naked slowly being painted Silver. After weeks of trying to fit that image in with the story of the song, I soon realised that the flat out symbolism was going so far beyond what was necessary to tell the songs truth.

So I decided to get real about the song and what it meant to me. The song is about artists, about being an artist, living with artists, the creative process and all that comes with it.
The idea is that I will play 3 different versions of myself, to demonstrate the creative process.
The first version will be a shy, timid, introverted character to reflect the vulnerability that comes with creating.
The second Character will be crazy, messy and flirtatious to reflect the on top of the world feeling you get when your starting to get really confident with what you are creating but still secretly scared of the rejection your creation might face and the Third will be very much a strong reflection of who I am as a whole to reflect the finished product. Confident in all its imperfections.

The reason I want to create a music video for this song is that I think images and music combined have a very profound way of telling a story that I am hoping will help to get my music known to a larger audience. I Have been working harder than ever to make music my career and I am determined to give it everything I have to make my lifes dream a reality.

For the Music video I have once again teamed up with Billy Minshull-Gardner director of my previous Music Video 'Cocoon', writer and director of the beautiful short films 'A Literary Tale' and 'Tea for the Rat Catcher'. We have a beautiful location and have found creative ways of cutting costs to make this happen without losing quality. Now we just need a little bit of help from you.

- Hiring equipment.
- Feeding the crew
- Costume and makeup
- Getting my music to a larger audience

The main challenge is time. We have 3 days to shoot in our beautiful location on a very tight budget.
The problem with this is that if we go over 3 days it will cost us more to hire the equipment and feed the crew.
However we have a schedule and I am putting my own funds into the project. We have worked with a small budget and very little time before on cocoon with much success. We can and will do it again!
