Snare will be a twelve minute Drama/Thriller short film made as a graduation piece at JMC Academy, in Melbourne Australia.

Snare is the story of Lillian Rouge, a young woman abducted from her home and thrown into a space unknown to her. Here Lillian has to try and find out why she has been captured before she loses herself in the process. Abused, humiliated and assaulted Lillian starts to learn more about her captors. Can Lillian figure out why she is trapped, when all is not as it appears?



The film plays itself out almost entirely in "The Viewing Room". In this bare room Lillian tries to figure out why she has been abducted and there are a few clues that are provided for her. Lillian fights back against the mysterious masked guards but it seems that there is nothing she can do to escape.

**SPOILER ALERT**

The Ending:
In the film we do not know why Lillian has been captured until the walls in front of her lift, studio lights are turned on, the sound of applause is heard and a presenter appears before her. It is at this point we realise that Lillian has been on a reality TV show. She is the star of Snare.

 
We believe that Snare is a film that will get people thinking about the content of reality tv shows. Our aim is to hopefully have something to do with a public shift in the enjoyment of others being hurt. 

The film is aiming to have the stark realism portrayed in films such as "12 Years A Slave" or "Hunger" by Steve McQueen with the dystopian world akin to "The Hunger Games".



Snare has some great talent attached. The first is Comedian and Youtube Sensation Neel Kolhatkar. Who will be playing  "The Presenter".

Neel Kolhatkar is one of the brightest prospects in Australian comedy. At 19, he boasts a CV already rivalling more seasoned stand-up professionals. With an existing subscriber base garnering him hundreds of thousands of hits on his YouTube videos, Neel sky-rocketed to Internet stardom in 2013 with his viral video ‘Australia in 2 Minutes’- which collected over a million hits within three days of its’ release.



Next is our lead actress Candice Leask who will be playing Lillian.

Candice has been performing on stage and screen for ten years and has been cast as the lead in professional theatre and musical theatre productions. She has guest starred on numerous Australian television series' such as Sea Patrol and has been cast in numerous commercials around Australia.
