De Appel Curatorial Programme
Hi! I'm Alisa. I am a curator from Western Australia, who has just been offered a fully sick opportunity to attend the world's best curatorial training programme (probably). I just need a few $$$ to make it happen.
De Appel is a world-renowned arts organisation in Amsterdam which accepts 6 artists each year to undertake ten months of workshops, seminars and intensive immersion in the international contemporary art scene. Basically every hotshot curator you know (er, Adam Szymczyk, Defne Ayas, Raimundas Malasauskas, many more) has attended and/or teaches there.
Please help me to become one of these hotshot curators by exchanging your spare cash for some sweet rewards!
You can check out some of my past projects at http://alisa.pizza

Budget Overview
De Appel asks for a deposit of $1000 to secure my place. This money then goes towards paying for the programme, including fees for their tutors. For a small investment, I get some incredible training, which cannot be found anywhere else in the world.
Potential Challenges
The De Appel Curatorial Programme looks like super hard work! It is a full-time schedule of crazy meetings, teaching, and independent research. I'm pretty sure I can handle it tho, and this is the life I chose when I became a curator so bring it the heck on.
The Windmill
You will receive my eternal gratitude and I will also thank you personally on my facebook page and website.
Tulip Fever
I will send you a personalised postcard with touching details of my overseas adventures. I'll also thank you on facebook and on my website.
Mooi Is Van Mij
A selection of stationery from the Beau Est Mien Sunny Cities collection. Beautiful notebooks and notepads featuring hand-painted designs of Australian cities. Retail value >$50! Aw heck, I'm definitely gonna thank you on the internet too.
Pannenkoeken
Join me for dinner on my return to Australia in July 2019. Let me cook you a Dutch-inspired feast and tell you all about my time away. I'll also send you a postcard from my time abroad and thank you on my social media!
Dutch Cheese Dreams
Have your dreams realised in photoshop form by digital artist Howard Melnyczuk (see image above for example). Soon you too can be chased into a canal by a giant cheese. Or whatever your heart desires...
Rembrandt
Get yourself an original artwork by photographer, (and radio superstar, zinester, lawyer-in-training and badass hacker): Perth's sweetheart, Emiko Watanabe. It's a lucky dip of one of the four pictured prints, but send me a message if there's one you've got your heart set on. You'll also get a postcard from abroad, a lovingly packaged selection of zines and a thanks on my facebook and website.
Canal Cruise
Select from a tasty menu of curatorial services courtesy of Alisa Blakeney. Need a grant written? Sure! How about a catalogue essay? I can do that. Maybe you just wanna chat for a couple hours about some ideas you got bubbling? I for one am very excited about this prospect. I'll throw in a free cup of coffee and a thanks on my facebook while we're at it.
Klompendansen
A lovingly packaged set of zines by Australian and international zinesters, hand-selected from my personal collection. I'll also thank you on facebook and on my website.
