M.O.V (Masters of Vision) is a creative project group that was founded in 2014 with the purpose of uniting dancers of different backgrounds, styles and experiences, named so for their passionate vision towards the future of dance in Australia. Under the direction of internationally acclaimed choreographer Alvin de Castro many young and aspiring dancers that have met through the open project classes have created a makeshift family bonding over their shared love of the art form and now we need your help.
M.O.V debuted at the Australian Dance Crew Championships (ADCC) state qualifiers mid-2014 with a display celebrating the diverse mix of styles and genres that represent the individuals themselves. Placing second in the open division meant qualifying for the championship finals in Melbourne, Victoria and all proceeds from our amazing supporters here are what will get us over there to not only represent Sydney but also support dance in Australia as a whole as we fully back all our fellow Aussie dancers and crews.
As part of the fundraising process M.O.V are also running a stall at Glebe Markets on Saturday the 15
th of November, throwing a fundraising workshop and selling apparel so keep informed with similar events and our progress by following Alvin de Castro on Facebook at
https://www.facebook.com/alvindancer?fref=ts. We are an independent dance team, not affiliated with a studio or business so all funding is done by the dancers. Aside from raising the funds themselves we often struggle to assemble everyone together due to the divergent lifestyles that we each live off the dance floor. This means late night rehearsals into the early morning hours. No matter, we are passionate and love what we do and competitions remind us why we dance in the first place =)
