The Blue Hour – 12” vinyl limited edition, CD, digital and merchandise pre-order

I will be releasing my fifth album The Blue Hour in September via my very own label Pink Frost Records!

I have hopes of pressing a very limited run of the album onto 12” vinyl by a Melbourne based pressing plant as well as pressing the album onto CD but don’t have the funds to finalise the production. Your pledge could help enable pressing the album onto vinyl and CD as well as owning a rare, collectable and signed LP/CD when the album is released in September!

This is also the official pre-order site for ordering the digital and vinyl/CD editions of the album. As the vinyl and CD pressings are limited to 150 editions each, make sure you put your order in before it sells out!

This album is about transition. It's about growing older and embracing change. I wrote a lot of the material on the album when I had just become a new mum, so motherhood is a constant theme on this album. I hope that when people listen to it they can relate to some of the themes and can engage with the work. Essentially this album is for you!

A bit of background on the project. I started work on the album in 2019 and have worked with an amazing array of local collaborators. Somewhere in all of this I brought up my daughter, studied, worked a job and somehow managed to finish the album mid last year.

We will be celebrating the launch of the album with a show on October 25 in Melbourne. The launch will have special guest appearances of people who have worked on the album and you will be able to purchase a ticket to the show as part of one of the rewards featured on the right.

Project Costs

The cost to manufacture the album onto vinyl and CD is around $5,750 which also includes album artwork and mastering fees. So far, I have raised $1,750 independently and am seeking to raise the final $4,000 via Pozible. 

The indicative breakdown of costs as percentages of the total is as follows:

Total cost: $5,750

Personal Contribution: $1,750
Pozible Fundraising Target: $4,000

Pozible Service Fee: 5% of fundraising target: $200
Pozible Credit Card Fees: 1.75% + 30c on each transaction

How The Funds Will Be Used

This is where your help comes in. To press vinyl is costly! But the reward is owning a beautiful product that looks and sounds amazing. Your help would assist in the production of a rare and signed limited edition piece of vinyl as well as pressing a limited run of CD's. How amazing would that be!

With thanks to Creative Victoria, this album has generated income for six musicians, two producers, and a mastering engineer to arrange, perform and record and master the album.

Then there is the album photography. The film makers who make the video clips. The booking agent who puts on all the shows. The publicist who helps raise awareness of the album. The rehearsals to prepare for the launch shows. The endless admin hours of managing an album production through to it's release. All these things take a lot of time and cost money.

Your participation in funding this project continues to help supporting local business and artists. In an economy where labels are constantly closing due to the expenses involved in releasing music, you are enabling an independent artist to be able to release new work and connect with audiences. Your pledge does more than buying an awesome and independently made product. Your pledge also builds awareness of the work and facilitates a community that supports the album release.
