About Corinbank
Corinbank music and arts festival is a truly immersive festival experience. Located in the alpine Brindabella Mountains just 30km from Canberra, the festival’s environmental credentials are inspired by Corin Forest’s natural beauty.
Corinbank is renowned for exposing emerging musicians and artists to wider audiences while supporting the Canberra music scene, and Corinbank 2012 [Take 2] will be no different. You will discover new sounds, sights and experiences. Corinbank is more than 'just' a music festival. It is an interactive experience where you are not just a spectator but a part of a community of like-minded, creative people sharing a love of music, art, and nature. When you’re not partying you can meander around the art installations, take a workshop or yoga class, catch the theatre and circus performances at The Bally, chill out in the Chai Tent or stop off at our Creative Camp sites and GreenKulture village.
Corinbank is an award-winning example of a major music festival that is entirely sustainable. We leave no trace.
Why we need your support
Corinbank is usually scheduled at the end of each summer. In 2012 it was scheduled for 2-4 March, but Mother Nature, the saucy minx, had other ideas. In the week preceding the festival, an ‘unprecedented rain event’ brought 350mm of rain to our beautiful site – more than Darwin gets in a month in the wet season. The day before the festival was due to start we received news that no festival ever wants to hear – the rain had made the surrounding mountains unstable and if there was a landslide, the emergency services crews wouldn’t have the resources to clear it. We had no choice but to make the heartbreaking decision to postpone.
This left us with a budget shortfall and we need your support to re-build our intimate festival. Your donation will help us to feed all the musos and artists (most of whom are performing for nothing – a testament to how much they believe in Corinbank), buy supplies for visual artists, print promotional posters, bring interstate bands and performers to the festival, and make sure there are lots of fun kids’ activities. It’ll also help us to ensure Corinbank’s outstanding green credentials, allowing us to stay committed to our goal to use 100% biodiesel, composting loos, recycle all grey water and run a solar-powered market village.
What’s on offer
You will sleep soundly at night knowing that you’ve helped Corinbank to re-emerge from the flood waters to continue its mission of showcasing Canberra’s musical and artistic talents and discovering new artists. You will be rewarded in the knowledge that your loyalty and generosity makes Corinbank the community celebration that it is. You’ll also get our undying love and gratitude. Most importantly, you’ll be welcomed with open arms into the Corinbank Family.
The rewards on offer through this campaign are thanks to local Canberra bands, the Canberra Musicians Club, our corporate partners, and the tireless work of our amazing crew of Corinteers. Whether you can make it to Corinbank 2012 [Take 2] or not, whether you’ve already bought your ticket or not… there’s something here for everyone.
All donors will get 'that warm n fuzzy' feeling, and all donors over $25 will be forever revered on our Virtual Wall of Honour.
We’d also love for you to tell your friends about Corinbank. Tickets are available at www.corinbank.com.
