Concerts for the Kids

We are a group of like-minded musicians looking to put the smile back on the faces of sick children through the magic of music. We "Cross Our Hearts" in a promise to deliver free concert entertainment that can only improve the outcomes for these children and make their immediate lives that little bit better . These free concerts will take place at locations such as the Sydney Children's Hospital in Randwick NSW, and the Monash Children's Hospital in Melbourne. The concerts will also raise funds for medical research and purchase much needed hospital resources along the way.

Early in the development of this project we decided as a group that we needed to "get it right from the start" with no compromises and no shortcuts. This project's success relies heavily on the generous donation of many people's time, however there are also many ongoing costs such as PA & sound engineer hire, instrument upkeep, travel and accommodation. We will require ongoing donations from charitable affiliates to keep the project alive, however for now, we just need funding to get off the ground and establish these affiliations.

Your generous donation will be rewarded with a variety of incentives but most of all you can take heart in knowing that you have helped put a smile on a child's face or just made their day that little bit better. Music is an incredible therapy for sick kids and we are sure you have seen it's power in your own day to day life. It can change you mood, it can motivate, it can make you love, it can make you laugh, in fact we believe it's power is almost unlimited. Studies have shown musical therapy to be of particular benefit to ill children with quantifiable benefits to young patient outcomes.

We take this job very serious. In order for us to guarantee the success of this project, it is imperative that follow a structured plan that allows for contingencies. The first and most essential part of this plan is to establish close financial contacts by networking. This means establishing long term connections with charities, foundations and benefactors that will support us for many years to come. We can only do this by promoting ourselves effectively and gracefully, we feel the best opportunity to do this arises at the upcoming 'Celebrate Life' ball in Melbourne, which is run aptly by The Celebrate Life Foundation for the benefit of children's charities at The Sydney Children's Hospital and Monash Children's Hospital in Melbourne. The benefactors present at this exclusive function are the exact people we need to convince to come on-board and join our mission.

This funding campaign through Pozible is just the first phase of massive undertaking. This is our Launchpad and you can help us to achieve the best possible start to our mission by becoming involved. We are looking to launch "Cross My Heart" with the "Celebrate Life Ball" in the Grand Hyatt, Melbourne on June 13, 2014. We feel this event will provide the ideal Launchpad for our project by allowing us to network with other charities, foundations and benefactors. The cost to make this event a reality for our small community organisation is AU$10,000 and this is where we need your help. It's a high price to pay for our initial exposure, however all of the proceeds of the $10,000 go to the Celebrate Life Foundation (see www.celebratelifefoundation.com.au for details), which inturn we be distributed to both The Sydney Children's Hospital at Randwick and Monash Children's Hospital in Melbourne. The highest value contributor to our Pozible campaign will receive 2 tickets to the Celebrate Life Ball on June 13th, valued at $2000 as well as dual 3 hour performances by one of our artists at their next business or private function.

Total $12,000

The obvious risk of a project like this is the failure to maintain sufficient funding. Continuity of funding is essential for the ongoing and smooth operation of the project. That being said, a good contingency plan and awareness of the potential obstacles should see us go a long way to preventing such failures. The first thing we can do is develop the initial strong relationships with long term benefactors. The second thing we can do is NEVER STOP WORKING. Working towards finding more benefactors and expanding the concept should see us held steadfast. The initial funding of $12,000 that we are seeking through this POZIBLE campaign will go a long way to establishing the necessary benefactor network and is certainly the most crucial phase of the project.
