‘Burger With The Lot’ is a short black and white comedy from the graduating 2014 Swinburne Film and Television class. The film is set in Melbourne, with a strong focus on the art scene within the city.

Twenty-one year old, Allison Burger who is amidst the transition from teenager to adult. She is irrefutably skilled artistically and creatively but her immature and childish nature holds her back from achieving success. When her best friend and roommate, Louie (21) moves out she is set into a downward spiral, and after many set-backs including a failed job interview, a threat from her landlord, and a falling out with Louie, Allison finally comes to the realisation that she must face her dreaded fear of adult responsibility. After an unpleasant meeting with her landlord, Allison spontaneously rebels, painting a mural - a striking and intricate self portrait - covering an entire wall in her apartment. She retakes the interview for the job she previously failed to attain and although she fails for the second time, a friendly run in with Louie causes her to feel content with where she is going in life.

We are creative and passionate students, however the art of filmmaking isn’t cheap so we need your help in order to make our vision into a film. With the decision to film on black and white, the design of the film is integral to conveying the narrative and Allison’s journey. The film has to be tactile, focusing on all the textures and patterns within the frame. Donations will help us to purchase costumes and props.
We are a crew that is passionate about art and film, driven to turn this story about Allison Burger into a short film we will be proud of, a finished film that we can enter into festivals.
Your donations will go towards:
-Hiring locations, a gallery and studio
-Camera equipment
-Catering the crew
-Props and costumes
-Post production costs

In the process of filmmaking many, many challenges appear, however it’s only the passion and the drive of the crew that actually gets it made. Collecting props and set dressings for four locations and costumes for six main actors is a hard task. Transporting furniture, camera and lighting equipment, props and costume is an even harder task.
However, these challenges are minor compared to the strength of our prepared team. We cannot wait to share with you our vision.
