Dad's Timeout: A video channel for new dads with children under 5

Hey there it's Arthur here.  I'm not a professional presenter, or a veteran on youtube (you can probably tell by my video!), I'm just a dad wanting to discuss issues that many other dads face.  The transition into parenthood is a difficult one for anybody, and I'd love to explore through a series of videos some of the issues we face as dads.  

I am a father of 2, one in primary school and 1 due to start school next year.  It has been years of fumbling around challenge after challenge as a parent.  On the rare occassion, I get a bit of time to chat with a few close friends,  I love it when we laugh and chat about stories that dads really relate to.

90% of funds raised will be donated to the Knox Toy Library!

I've always believed in community, and our family has been involved in the knox toy library for years as members.  It is a great place for families of young children to have fun and a take a piece of that fun home with them.  

The Knox Toy Library provides a variety of fun, educational and age-appropriate toys for loan, at an affordable rate, to promote children's learning and development through play. The Toy Library is also an informal meeting point for parents of varying cultural and socio-economic groups.   A Toy Library membership gives children the opportunity to experience a wider range of toys than they wouldn’t normally have access to, and it allows children to make choices and to learn from their decision making.  You can check out their website here https://www.knoxtoylibrary.org.au/

The other 10% goes towards video editing fees and pozibles fees.

A simple project

This project is going to support the making some short youtube videos.  Hopefully a mixture of solo videos and videos sitting down and having a chat with new dads particularly with children under 5 years old.  I would prefer to have more guest dads on this channel to express points of views and issues that I may not be going through myself.

• new dads internalise pressure
• Over 50% of new dads, experience moderate stress as first time fathers,
• Almost half of new dads are unaware Post Natal Depression can affect men as well as women
• over 1 in 2 new dads wish they knew more about parenting.

Out of the funds raised

90% will go to supporting the Knox Toy Library

10% will go towards pozible and admin fees.

The video equipment, lighting equipment, editing and venue is currently all self funded, so this project is about raising money for a great local organisation while hopefully increasing the viewers to the youtube channel.
