Recording Songs for Freedom
Hello Friends, Family, Supporters,
The last 12 months for me have been a transformative time as I experienced a 20 year battle with depression lifting and consequently creative juices flowing like never before. This has led to me writing an unprecedented number of songs.
This writing process has been very therapeutic as I have tried to be as transparent as possible. I have seen lyric writing like journal writing. So my songs reflect my heart, my struggles, my revelations, my burnout and my joys.

On March 28th this year I played my first originals gig in 16 years. I felt quite vulnerable bringing these songs to the public ear, given its like handing over your journal for everyone to read. I wasn't sure if anyone would like them, connect with them or even understand them. I wasn’t sure who would connect with them. It was a great joy for me to find out after the gig that people liked the music and had really connected with the songs. What really surprised me was the number of people in the 15-20 year age bracket who really liked them and could relate to the lyrics. I was asked numerous times after the gig when I was going to record them. My answer was “When cash falls from the sky”. But at my 18 year old nephews prompting I have decided to be more proactive than that and actually ask the people in my life to help me be able to record these songs (thanks Luko). My hope is that more people can connect with the lyrics and personally get something from them.
And so I am asking for your support to help me raise half of what is needed to record them and make them more accessible. I will contribute the other half.
I am also making the commitment to donate 20 cents of my own funds for every dollar donated to a wonderful charity founded by a dear friend and mentor of mine called The Freedom Project - a movement of people committed to seeing justice done by fighting to end human trafficking and slavery around the world. This is their story:
My commitment is to keep being as transparent as possible with whatever I write going forward so that people can continue to connect through music.
Thankyou for taking the time to check out my campaign. I appreciate the support.
For the Story. For the Freedom.

Shoutouts!
To the band in this gig:
Ben Densley on drums - need a drum teacher? call him.
Mark Elidge on Bass - legend
Danny Polglase on keys - check out Danny on facebook, he's an accomplished artist in his own right
Devas Emcee - Check Fiza_n_Devas on insta.
And last for special mention, Liv Christie who sang BV's for the gig but who is also helping me with the planning and executing of this crowd fund. Thanks Liv.
Budget Overview
If this campaign is successful (and it has to raise the entire amount or none of it will be available) it will enable me to record a 5 track album (EP).
There are costs to not only record and master the album but also to be able to promote it so that it gets airplay on the radio and is streamed by people through awareness advertising. There is no point recording an album and no one listening to it because they don't know about it. That's why I deem it important to budget for Marketing and Publicity.
I will be contributing $3000 to the costs of this whole project and am seeking to raise $3000 through this campaign to cover what is needed.
- $2500 Recording, Mixing and Mastering (over 4 days)
- $500 Graphic Design
Total Campaign Goal: $3000
My contribution of $3000 will cover CD production, marketing, publicity, Pozible fees, shipping, rewards and The Freedom Project donations.
It takes a crowd to fund a campaign, and every $10 helps. Please help me get my songs to the world.
Thanks for joining me in this journey
For the Story. For the Freedom.
