We need your support now!
Would you like to be part of an important new initiative helping diverse and disadvantaged kids experience the wonder of cinema?
In 2013 we're calling out to all our fans and everyone who love films to help us with a project to get this year's Little Big Shots program out to regional and remote communities across Australia. Each year many of these communities contact us interested in screening packages from our program, but are unable to afford the fees associated that we must charge so the festival can stay in the black. We do what can, but now we're asking for your assistance so that we can take these fantastic short films out to kids in regional and remote areas of Australia that would otherwise miss out. Our project, if we successfully raise the required funds, is to take Little Big Shots screenings free of charge to at least 5 regional, or remote communities around Australia. Once the project is up and running we'll ask for expressions of interest and select the successful submissions. At least one of the 5 successful submissions will be from an indigenous community and one will be from a multicultural community.

Each year Little Big Shots brings together the best short films from across the globe, great films from local independent directors and films made by kids themselves to make up a unique event that has become Australia's major international children's film festival and national tour. After the festival in Melbourne over the Queen's Birthday long weekend (7-10 June 2013), we travel to The National Film and Sound Archive in Canberra, The Sydney Opera House, The Adelaide Festival Centre and venues in each capital city, state and territory. We also travel to a number of regional centres across the country, but now we'd like to take our films even further afield to offer these five regional, or remote communities a free screening of the LBS package of their choice.
All pledges gratefully accepted and know that you've been part of the continuing story of Little Big Shots bringing the wonderful world of cinema to Aussie kids across the nation.
Here's how the funds will be used:
1. To subsidise the costs of compiling the films into the dvd packages for screening ($500 per screening).
2. Assist with travel and accommodation costs sending an LBS representative to the screenings ($250 per screening).
3. Assist with the setting up of integrated free filmmaking workshops to coincide with the screenings ($250 per screening).
These screenings will all take place between the next LBS touring period of July 2013 - May 2014.
