Insert Sponsor Here' Radio Variety Hour is a live radio variety show set in the golden years of radio - the 1940's. Marvel at the cutting-edge sound effects! Thrill at the drama! Swoon at the heart-throbs! Wince at the racism!

Before Television took over, Radio provided fantastic entertainment for all ages. Radio drama was brought to life with the use of imaginative scripts, great character actors and the use of innovative sound-effects. The actors in these shows became stars in their own right and audiences flocked to see them perform live in the radio studios. 'Insert Sponsor Here' Radio Variety Hour is a light-hearted look at the performance itself, how things really worked in the studio, how the special effects were done, who really did all the different voices and how the actors interacted with each other.
Using a mix of actual Australian broadcast material from the 40s and material adapted especially for the show, 'Insert Sponsor Here' Radio Variety Hour is action-packed with comedy, drama, music, adventure, product placement and good old-fashioned racism!

WHY WE NEED FUNDING

We are struggling comedians, actors, writers, wannabes. The rent of the theatre and accommodation in Adelaide are the two biggies that the money will go towards.

WHO WE ARE

There are three cast members - Rob Goldsmith, Sam Marzden and Lauren Bok.

Rob Goldsmith wrote the show (with his mate Angelo D'Costa). Rob has a writing and performing background as a voice-over, dancer and actor. He has also done stand-up and some work in radio.

Sam and Lauren are stand-up comedians and multi-talented performers as well (more info to follow).
