About the film
This Australian comedy follows Daniel, an awkward yet loveable older father of two challenging teenage daughters, as he tries to relate and create a bond with them. Feeling the need to compete with the 'perfect' father across the road, Daniel sets out to teach his daughters life's most important lessons in unconventional ways. The misguided way that Daniel tries to relate to Annabelle and Clare only seems to segregate him even more, causing both him and his daughters to realise just how dysfunctional their family really is. When one of Daniel's lessons backfires, resulting in him breaking both his arms, the girls must step up and implement the responsibility that their father has taught them. In the midst of the drama and panic, they finally come together and begin to appreciate the peculiar way their family works whilst also discovering that not all is what it seems with their 'perfect' neighours.

Why we need your help
'Dyfunctional' is a Bachelor of Film and Television graduate year film from Ellena Paskevcius and as this is a student project being funded on student wages we need a little help in acquiring the more expensive aspects of the film that will help make it everything it can be. Money raised from this campaign will go towards the Art and Camera Departments as well as helping to feed our wonderful Cast and Crew.

With 4 unique locations and one being set in the 90's, our Art Director Jess Martin has been charged with dressing 2 teenager's bedrooms, a family kitchen and a suburban street to fit the unique stylings of Ellena's vision.

For our camera needs, we require some specialist equipment to achieve some dynamic camera movements from small crane movements to a handheld rig to capture the best performance from our talented cast.

About the Team
Ellena Paskevicius - Writer/Director
Ellena has been perfecting the art of writing and directing Australian dark comedies over the last 3 years building to this graduate project for her Bachelor of Film and Television. Sourcing inspiration from her own experiences, Ellena's unrestrained sense of humour and quirky story lines, allows for captivating characters and the sense of real life situations.

Matt Wilson - Director of Photography
Focusing on Cinematography and lighting, Matt has been able to develop a broad range of styles and techniques in his multitude of Director of Photography roles over the last 4 years. Straight off the back of winning the Award for Best Achievement in Cinematography for his work in Tea for the Ratcatcher, Matt is excited to further his visual flair with 'Dysfunctional'.

Brett Tinning - Producer
With his 3rd collaboration with Writer/Director Ellena Paskevicus, Brett has been able further his love for Creative Producing in the Aussie Comedy genre. Currently completing his Bachelor of Film and Television at Swinburne University, he has been specialising in the Art of Producing and won the Award for Best Achievement in Producing in his second year.
