Brisbane Cabaret Festival is fighting its way back!
In spite of a perfect storm that started
with the Global Financial Crisis continued with the Brisbane Flood
Crisis and struck again with sudden funding cuts the Brisbane Cabaret
Festival is determined to rise again for 2012. But we need your help NOW
to make sure it happens as planned!
To cut a long story short, our funding is now perilously thin and we really need an injection of goodwill to truly get the festival back on solid ground again. So we've pulled in favours, made new venue friends and pooled the resources of the Brisbane Cabaret scene to ensure that we can put a festival on during spring this year.
We've signed up some pretty exciting acts too. The big news is Women in Voice IS coming to Brisbane for the Brisbane Cabaret Festival, so we're very excited to be presenting the long awaited return of WIV but we're losing sleep over making sure that we can make the best possible program for 2012 with our limited resources.
Running over three weeks at some of Brisbane's best established and new cabaret venues including The Judith Wright Centre, Tribal Theatre, The Old Museum, Stockholm Syndrome, Stagedoor, The Manhattan Club, Emporium Hotel, The Pink Piano and SYC Studios this year's festival will aim to present over 40 cabaret events.
But we need your support to ensure the festival is all it can be for our venues, our artists and, of course, you - the Brisbane cabaret-loving community. You can choose one of the rewards or just click on Support Project and throw some money into the accordion case...
