The WOW (World of Women) Film Festival is celebrating its 21st year in 2016. In the true spirit of 21st birthdays, it's gonna be a party! There has never been more exciting time for women in film and here at WOW, we want to make this year's festival the most innovative and inspiring yet. But we need your help!

We have a team of incredibly boss ladies that have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to get this year's WOW happening and a bloody stellar line up of films ready to knock your socks off. Here at WOW we are all about ladies supporting ladies - in creative industry and every day - and today we are asking for your help to make our festival happen.

FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS

- We are very excited to announce that Aussie film legend Gillian Armstrong will be joining us as Festival Patron for our Opening Night Gala, after which we will be screening her classic feature, 'My Brilliant Career'.

- Our Gala Screening Night will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the 'Thelma and Louise' (jeans, sunglasses and scarves mandatory) with Cadillac photoshoots, a tequila bar and 'Thelma and Louise' trivia hosted by the hilarious ladies at Skit Box!



- We will be hosting a range of incredible panel events across topics like mastering online branding in creative industry ("Hashtag"), how to manage a creative career when you become a mum ("Up The Duff"), feminism and female advocacy ("Highlander"), and how to kill it in alternative distribution ("Straight to DVD").

Thanks to the entry fees of incredible filmmakers from all around the world, we can cover the festival's costs for everything we need excluding venues - screening costs, merchandise, printing etc. As you can imagine, venues are a biggie when it comes to screening films! We have films in competition which will screen over three days at Cinema Paris, with our Opening Night and Gala Screening Night to be held at the stunning Chauvel. Your generous pledges will help us to consolidate the last leg of our budget and to secure these incredible venues, making sure our programmed films look and sound amazing.

We are a not for profit organisation that promotes the development and careers of women in film and television. Given the nature of running as a not for profit, our main obstacle is simply not having the finances to put on a festival - much less an amazing one! We want to make sure that our festival not only showcases the work of incredible filmmakers from all over the world, but that it also develops the skills of practitioners closer to home by putting on high quality panels and workshops run by industry professionals. With the support of such generous folk as yourself we can actually have a festival to begin with, then on top of that make it one that makes a difference.
