All is dark at the bottom of the sea. A submarine arrives. Out pops a deep sea diver. We set off in their submarine (which is also a rocket) and blast off through the atmosphere into outer space. Floating past the nebulas, our rocket lands on a strange planet, we meet an alien and have a space disco. So bring your dancing shoes!

Through theatre trickery and special effects, Beneath and Beyond leads you on a 4D adventure through underwater landscapes and alien worlds, all created out of recycled plastic. The spectacle unfolds all around you and an adventurous spirit will be richly rewarded. Or you can just lie back and watch the fish float by, listening to the sounds of the universe.

Beneath and Beyond is a new work by Making Space (previously Canvas Sky).

With the aid of  Nilgun Guven, Anna Schoo, Shoshana McDonald, Anastasia Poppenberg, Sarah Bianco, Richard Vabre, Rebecca Etchell, Lisa Mibus, Sayraphim Lothian, Dan Goronzy, Sharyn Brand, Sian Bennett, Jason Crick, Jessica Davie and more.

It is an all ages, all access event. 

Peformances will be held at La Mama Courthouse Theatre from June 30 - July 10.

All funds will be used to meet production costs. 

Our base goal will increase 4 areas of the budget adding just $250 to each of our Set, Lighting, Sound and Costume budgets. 

In most cases this doubles our the current budget so we can dream a bit bigger.

A small chunk of this also goes to making the rewards.

$500 more allows us to invest a bit in getting the word out there and making sure the show is a sucess.

$500 more means we can make a clip from the show to use in future funding and hopefully not need to ask you guys for as much in the future.

$1000 more means we can begin to give the artists a little for their time.

Making independent theatre is a hard slog. It takes many hours to conceive a work and then to make it real while juggling lives and other creative pursuits. We have a wonderful team who are a great joy to work with. Your contributions will make that hard slog a bit easier by meaning we can afford to buy the things we need and employ people to do jobs rather than begging and borrowing everything.
