'Linger' tells the story of 27 year old arts student James Speicher, who has everything going for him: he has good friends, a good education and a good life. That's why it comes as a shock when a car crash burdens James with a rare psychological condition that deletes all of his memories, one by one. Supported by his best friend Caitlin and a group of close peers, James struggles to come to terms with the gravity of his situation, and the inevitable realisation that he will lose all recollection of everyone and everything he loves. Stubborn and sentimental, James refuses to go down without a fight and attempts to hold on to his memories just a little while longer, rejecting idea after idea... but after a brush with desperation and anger, he may finally find the solution he was looking for...

Touching, emotive and honest, "Linger" deals with heavy issues such as dementia, hopelessness and coping with the inevitable, but in a way in which there is always a ray of hope, created by a team of talented young Australian filmmakers. When completed, the goal is to submit the film into numerous festivals and spread it around, as well as promoting fresh new talent.

Aside from the obvious expenses: e.g. props, locations, film equipment, transportation, catering, colour grading, etc. we are shooting this production using 16mm film. Though absolutely beautiful to look at, it is rather costly (but worth every cent!). Your donation will help us with purchasing and processing these film reels, and we would greatly appreciate a donation of any amount to help us put together a film we are genuinely passionate about, which has potential to go far. Low Budget:
We have to be extremely careful with how much money we spend, particularly while working with 16mm film. Any donation you give alleviates this stress somewhat, and will go alongside our own personal funds to create this film and bring it to a professional, high quality standard.

Creative Restrictions:
Though we are experienced in filmmaking, this is our first foray into the use of 16mm film. Your donation will be an invaluable asset to enable us the capability and room for multiple takes and to ensure each scene comes out perfectly.

Time:
As a second year project for Swinburne University of Technology, time is not on our side, our deadline for a completed film being early June, with a production deadline of early May. Your donations, as well as being greatly appreciated, will help us to raise funds in a realistic block of time, and your input will go a long way into the creation of a fantastic short film!
