'GO FISH' is a short drama that confronts the struggles of a socially unaccepted boy who, traumatized by an untimely death, develops an obsession with fishing in order to reconnect him. Ostracized, belittled and misunderstood by his peers, young Sam's scars run deeper than anyone knows. After a violent accident Sam now spends his afternoons upon the school sports shed, his fishing line cast among a mass of schoolyard jeers and hurtful words, fishing for his father, for salvation, for hope, and just maybe, for the healing powers of friendship.

It's not every day you have the opportunity to part of something truly special. This film is important to us. Not only does it confront the ways in which we deal with pain and grief, but the impact and severity of childhood bullying that is more prevalent in our culture than ever before. In Australia one child in every four is affected by bullying, with an estimated 200 million children and youth affected by it world wide. 'GO FISH' subtly and artfully draws attention to the fragility of youth and the precarious nature of all our lives, offering hope for those who may have lost it.

'GO FISH' began as a student film, however filming ceased mid-year due to budgetary reasons. The project has been kick started again as a self-funded independent production. Our passionate and talented writer/director Kristin Sargent, along with an AMAZING cast and crew, have reassembled to finish this beautiful, poignant and deeply meaningful film - AND WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!

The funds will be used
- to help feed and carry crew around.
- to hire equipment
- to help our art department and wardrobe
- to cover insurances
- to fund all of our post production costs.

- We still have 50% of the filming to complete and have been on hiatus due to budget difficulties for over 5 months!
- Completing the film will require a significant amount of work over a short period of time, and we need your help to get it done!
- $2500 helps cover the costs of completing the second half of filming. Up until now everything has come out of our own pocket, and as well as the final shoot we still need to cover the costs of post-production, audio and mastering! So any help at all is greatly appreciated!
- This is an “all-or-nothing” fundraiser campaign, which means we only get the funds if we reach our goal within the short time-frame set. So if we raise $2499 of our $2500 goal and run out of time, we don’t get ANY of it! Your credit card won’t actually be charged until we reach the goal, but your pledge could make the difference!
