Meet Ollie. He's 22. He's good looking. He's got a great job. But he's just been broken up with. Well...it was actually seven months ago. But he won't admit to that. And how hard is it for him to move on? Just ask his friends. 

REBOUND is Girls meets Please Like Me meets twentysomething with a little bit of Skins thrown in for good measure. 

The pilot episode of REBOUND explores the beginning of the journey Ollie takes from being "I'm not okay" all the way through to "I'm okay now". While some people find it very easy to bounce back from heartbreak, others walk down struggle street for a very long time. Ollie is one of those people. But after his friends get bored of his constant and VERY public displays of emotional trauma, they decide to take matters into their own hands. That's when he meets Liam, an endearingly arrogant stranger who provides Ollie with that the chance to rebound. What could go wrong? 

REBOUND fuses comedy and drama together to accurately tell the story of someone who just sucks at sucking it up. With a mix of sharp dialogue and pop culture references, REBOUND is a relatable story with a universal theme that will not only resonate with a gay audience, but also a straight audience too. Because hey...who hasn't had their heart broken before? 

REBOUND has collected an amazing cast of up and coming actors who have been dedicating their time and talents for the past few months and they aren't the only ones who want this project to find its feet. Because didn't Einstein say: "the best talent is the talent that is yet to be discovered." Joking. That was the writer of REBOUND. 

So we need your help!

The best way for us to get the attention of production companies, is to get YOUR attention. And with everyones attention gained we can make the best version of REBOUND possible. 

Meet the Cast

While we have a dedicated cast (from theatre actors to former Big Brother Australia contestants) and an awesome crew who are willing to donate their time and talents for no fee, there will definitely be some other costs that as a team we will need YOUR help with. 

The major things we anticipate having to spend money on are:

PREMIER VENUE: Because the future of the project is uncertain, with no guarantee of being aired on television, we want everyone involved to be able to see the finished product. Not only will everyone get to see their hard work on the big screen, but it will offer us an amazing opportunity to gather feedback about how the finished product turns out. 

KICK ASS TITLES SEQUENCE: Any awesome television show these days has an awesome titles sequence. Ours will be most like True Blood. Joking...that would be crazy. But we do hope to create something that not only looks cool but matches the mood and aesthetic of the show. We believe that without this sequence the pilot could definitely fall flat. 

Those are the two most expensive projects but there are so many other things that require our attention. Things from: props/art department, lighting and miscellaneous film equipment, wardrobe/hair and make-up , photoshoots and last but not least: CATERING (because even actors get hungry sometimes).

- Titles: $350
- Wardrobe/Hair/Make-up: $350
- Marketing: $200
- Catering: $350
- Lighting/Film Equipment: $350
- Premier Venue: $750
- Photoshoots: $150

Obviously we don't take any of your pledges for granted and if you decided to donate any money to our campaign we have created the best rewards we can (within our budget) to thank you for your support. 

As a low budget, independent production on a tight timeframe we imagine we will run into many challenges along our production journey. 

Getting everyone on board to support us will most likely be the toughest challenge we face. Not only is the Australian film and television industry notoriously hard to crack, but cracking it with a gay themed production will be much harder. But we believe that we have the perfect script and best cast possible to make this happen despite gay characters being criminally underrepresented on Australian screens. 

Getting money from strangers is also going to be a hard task but we believe in our project and hopefully you believe in it too and if you do we can present you with an awesome TV show made to the best quality possible. 

Because the actors and crew are taking time of their actual paying jobs to be a part of this production, our time frame for this shoot is super limited. This will be a massive challenge to film a 30 page script over 5 days. Normally a production of this size would be given almost double the amount of time to make this work, but we have 5 days. 

The final challenge will be convincing production companies, and even possibly networks, to produce the remainder of the episodes (there are six in total) and help us get on your television screens. 

In no world do we imagine this to be an easy feat to achieve, but we think we have the perfect recipe to create a delicious meal for you all to eat up. Was that a weird metaphor to use? Who cares because are so excited to get started on this project and we would love you all to get on board!
