Hi, I'm Carla and I'm an artist from Perth, I graduated with a first class honours last year and I have secured my first main solo exhibition at MOANA Project Space in September. This is great for me because it's directly after my residency at PICA (Perth Institute of Contemporary Art) which starts in July. This means I can work extensively on producing a body of work for the exhibition but not so extensively on things like working a day job to fund the cost of the project.
During the first part of my residency I will be attempting to start an online relationship. I've been doing research into various online dating platforms and I think I will use OkCupid. This search and (hopefully) resulting relationship will form the basis for the body of work that will be shown at MOANA.
I am really excited about this project because its a culmination of lots of previous smaller projects and it's great to have the support of both PICA and MOANA.

嗨~ 我是卡拉，一名来自澳大利亚珀斯的民间艺术家。我去年7月毕业于珀斯当代艺术学院并荣获一流学位，在随后的9月份举办了我人生中的第一次个人展会，这对我的意义可真是非同小可！这意味着我不用厮杀于职场来为项目筹集成本资金，而在为展会设计作品上有非常大的发展空间。
目前我打算创建一个网络平台，建立互联网关系。我一直在调查各种不同的网络社交平台和约会软件，我想我将会用“上吧丘比特”（OkCupid）帮我做一些宣传工作。这次调查的结果将会形成我作品的主体部分并也会在Moana展会展出。
对于这个激动人心的项目，我简直无法按耐我那兴奋的小心脏！因为这次的展会与以往的小型项目大有不同，它得到了珀斯当代艺术学院和Moana的鼎力支持，它将会把我的艺术生涯推上顶峰。
为何进行众筹？
从Pozible募集到的资金将会直接用于支付画廊的租金（约$1000澳币）并且有助于设计师支付一些前期成本 。

这真是非常忙的一年，我要不禁感叹一句“时间都去哪了呢”！
其实在一月份的时候，我跟一个在珀斯麦穗节荣获最佳视觉艺术奖冠军的朋友一起策划了一个叫“纸片山”的项目。今年二月，我和朋友Mardi Crocker在“零距离画廊”里面举办了一次精美小型展会。在六月份我在Gotham 工作室呈现了我新的绘画作品。

挑战
我一直致力在Moana展会呈现一次高水准的展览。因我有在珀斯当代艺术培训学校学习的基础和背景，所以我觉得这会降低我的挑战难度并更有利于我成功实现梦想。
How The Funds Will Be Used
Funds received from this Pozible campaign will go directly into paying for gallery rent ($1000) and will go towards paying a designer (the incredible Celeste Njoo) to lay out the catalogue.
Lots of amazing people are providing in kind support for this project and I have managed to save enough to cover the cost of making the actual artwork but your support will ensure I can spend more time in the studio.

The Challenges
I am dedicated to fully utilising my residency at PICA and producing a high calibre exhibition at MOANA. It is for these reasons that I foresee minimal challenges to this project going ahead.
ASL: Zine Package
A pack of three full colour, stitch bound zines. You will receive a copy of my zines "LISTS FROM GUYS CALLED CRAIG THAT I MET ON CRAIGSLIST" and "POEMS ABOUT GHOST RIDER WRITTEN BY GHOST WRITERS" from 2013 and also a copy of "LISTS FROM GUYS CALLED CRAIG THAT I MET ON CRAIGSLIST V2.0" - A special second edition only available through pozible!

You & Me: Custom Portrait
If you pledge $80 towards my exhibition, I will create a custom air dry clay portrait just for you! You can choose if you would like me to model something from a photo of yourself or a loved one... or perhaps a stranger you have met on your very own internet escapades! Each portrait will be completely unique but is generally around 20cm high and made from air dry clay.
