BACK TO SANITY is a romantic thriller about the mental health of a young man and how he deals with his emotions and feelings after the breakup of his relationship with his girlfriend. The story is told from the perspective of the girl, who becomes hopelessly lost in the wilderness after her dog escapes into the forest on the night of the breakup. Once in the forest, the girl must face her own problems, as she finds herself being stalked by a hooded figure - is it real or in her head?
For the past two and a half years Tamara Turner and myself, Paul Sinkinson have been working in our own time using volunteers and with minimal funds and technical equipment, to produce the 97 minute feature. Written and directed by myself, with Tamara and a few of our friends acting, the film was produced by Tamara and I, and shot in the Adelaide Hills in South Australia. Work for the film began while in high school back in 2010, where we had the opportunity to make a piece of media - from there it grew into a feature film. We had the help and support of the local community and there was a growing interest for us to showcase the film at our local hall
The premiere was held on the 23rd of June, 2012 and we were blown away with the level of support and positive feedback from the community. There has been a high level of interest for us to produce a DVD
Proceeds from the entry for the premiere screening benefited the charity 'headspace' - the national youth mental health foundation, as mental health was an underlying theme of the film. We would like to use donations made on Pozible to raise the money for the DVD production of BACK TO SANITY. We can then afford to pay for the dvd to be copied, printed on, put in a case and the covers printed to then give to people as a reward for donating.
Thankyou for your support so far!
