Welcome to The Colony, a breathtakingly beautiful new theatre experience.

The Colony will premiere from the 16-23 November 2012 at the Centre of Contemporary Arts in Cairns. Set on a small island in the Coral Sea, a colony of outcasts starts to unravel in a dance between sanity and madness, love and death.

The Colony brings together an extraordinary mix of artists to create a visual feast for Cairns audiences (see right). Written and adapted for the stage by one of Australia’s boldest playwrights, Graham Henderson, The Colony embraces a multi-cultural cast, exquisite costumes, intriguing set design and live music on stage.

The director and choreographer, with over 60 years experience between them, Guillaume 'Willem' Brugman and Catherine Hassall, bring a wealth of international dance & theatre experience to the piece.

This new production is about the human spirit and how we connect. It explores the universal themes of love, compassion, humanity and that despite how different we can appear, it reveals, that somehow, underneath it all, we are the same.

The Colony promises to immerse you in the visceral experience of dance, music, song, theatre and art.
