About the Story

Soft as a Butterfly is a gentle and educational children’s book inspired by my son  and all the children who live with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), a rare condition that makes the skin as delicate as a butterfly’s wing.

Through simple, warm storytelling, Soft as a Butterfly helps children understand what EB is and teaches empathy, kindness, and acceptance for those who may look or live a little differently.

The story follows a young boy who shows that even though his skin is fragile, his heart and spirit are strong. It’s a message for all kids that strength comes in many forms. 

This book is my way of helping parents, teachers, and children start meaningful conversations about Epidermolysis Bullosa, difference, resilience, and kindness.
It’s a story that builds understanding , not fear or pity and shows that every child deserves to be treated with softness, patience, and respect.

By sharing this story, I hope to make the world just a little gentler for children with EB helping others see beyond the condition, to the bright, beautiful person beneath.

The Goal
This isn’t about profit it’s about purpose.
My goal is to bring Soft as a Butterfly to life, print an initial run, and help more families, teachers, and children learn about EB in a heartfelt and accessible way.
