We are Healthy Treats by Mrs Rees and we are a family business working hard to make delicious treats. We make wholesome goodies with no refined sugar in a 100% gluten free kitchen. Our range includes bliss balls, biscuits, raw chocolate and cakes and we aim to cater for a wide variety and combination of intolerances and dietary choices. We have been operating for 4 years and have become well known in the Hobart area, supplying 40 stockists and appearing at Farm Gate Market.
We have recently moved residentially to central Hobart but our commercial kitchen is still in the Huon Valley. We found a new premises in November 2015 and knew a little bit of work needed to be done. As the actual building needs to be registered for commercial use, the little bit of work has turned into a lot. The big expected $5000 bill has actually turned into more like $12,000. The $200 permits keep turning into $800 permits. Things were tight before but now they are a bit more tighter.
We need to have the new premises up and running by April. Please help us so that we can keep suppling Hobart, Tasmania and even parts of Australia with quality healthy treats!
How The Funds Will Be Used
The funds will be used to help us pay for some unexpected larger costs that have arisen since agreeing to lease our new premises:
Installation of grease trap and other plumbing to bring it up to a commercial standard $12,000
Various engineers reports $4,000
Various permits $2,000
New shelving and refrigeration units $3,000
Altering the premises to include disabled access to current standard $1,000
So even though we have only set a $5,000 target, more is always welcome!
