Takeawei Kiln Fund
I design, make and teach ceramics. Takeawei is growing out of the shared studio in North Melbourne and moving to a larger, dedicated studio space on the Surf Coast, Torquay, Victoria. The new studio will house Takeawei ceramics production and offer classes, workshops and a firing service to the local community and visitors interested in learning more about ceramics.

THE STUDIO
The new Takeawei studio will be larger, purpose built and close to home.
Ashmore Arts is an artists space in Torquay offering self contained studios set amongst the Australian bush with ocean views...A pretty nice spot to make pots! Building of the new Takeawei studio is underway and it is scheduled to be finished by the end of May/ beginning of June.

With your help the studio will have everything it needs to be a fully functioning ceramics studio and class space. Your support will fund with the most important piece of equipment, the Kiln. Any extra funds will go toward set up of the space including shelving and furniture. I will also be transporting other equipment from my current studio including pottery wheels, a slab roller, a clay extruder and more!
REWARDS
Be one of the first to show your support and be rewarded with limited edition ceramics, classes and your name written on the Studio Supporter Wall.

CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS
I'm so excted to share my studio and teach classes from the same space. I will be listing the first classes in the new studio as rewards here on the Pozible campaign. Take a workshop in plate making, wheel throwing or try your hand at an open studio class with access to all the equipment including the slab roller, clay extruder, pottery wheels and glazing facilities.
Once the studio is built and the kiln has arrived I will email supporters organise your class booking. Dont miss out, show your support by signing up and secure your spot.
If you have any questions about the new space please send me an email. [email protected]

New Target $10,000
I have some great news, we have opted for a bigger 3-phase kiln and a separate glazing and firing room in a shipping container. This means more room for work to be fired and more space in the studio for pottery wheels and making.
Now let's make this studio even better!
With an extra $3,000 we can get more wheels for classes and a pugmill to recycle clay.
2 x Pottery wheel for classes $1,500
1 x clay de-airing pugmill $1,500
More wheels means no waiting around for a wheel class as there will be more spots available. The wheel class rewards disappeared pretty fast so I have listed some more wheel class rewards to help us reach this target.
Pugmills take all the hard work out of recycling clay which can then be reused to make pots and better the environment by not wasting materials. It also means a cheap source of clay for students.

Yeah that weird looking thing is a pugmill, isn't it beautiful!
How The Funds Will Be Used

$7,000 Rohde Kiln, including all extras; exhaust, kiln shelves and props. The transport to the studio and installation by an electrician is also included in the costing.
No funds will be wasted! Any other funds over the $7,000 will go toward building shelving, purchasing chairs and tables and removalists costs to transport my existing pottery wheels and other equipment to the new space.
