About the project

The Adelaide Kids Film Festival is a three-day annual event which gives young filmmakers a chance to show their short films on the big screen. The event is now in its second year after a well-received pilot in 2011. Held at Palace Nova Eastend Cinemas on the 22-24th November 2012, kids will be able to see their films on the big screen plus have the chance to win some awesome prizes.

The 2012 program has expanded to include three days of innovative short films directed, produced, filmed and performed by kids along with Q&As, workshops and seminars with industry professionals. Help us to help kids have a chance to be creative and support a festival which aims to nurture and promote budding filmmakers.

We want the festival to become a permanent fixture on the Adelaide Festival Calendar and to be recognised internationally.

The mission of the Adelaide Kids Film Festival is to encourage and foster an appreciation for digital storytelling in young people, and provide a prestigious yet accessible platform to showcase their creative work.

Why are we crowdfunding?

We want to make this festival for kids as prestigious as any international film festival so that the kids involved feel like they are part of the real deal.

We are asking for your help to make the festival top notch and in return we are offering awesome rewards (see right).

This year we weren’t lucky enough to receive government funding, so we are solely relying on your help and private investors. This will be the only year we ask you for help.

Where will your funds go?

If you choose to contribute not only are you contributing to the future of our kids but you are also contributing to the future of our film industry.

Your funds will directly contribute to:

1) Marketing costs - to promote the festival to the far corners of the country. Some of the great stories are told from our small regional areas.
2) Prizes – we want to recognise the great talent with exciting prizes that will inspire and encourage

3) Venue costs
