I am confounded as to why State and Federal governments do not seem to tackle (at least) Domestic Violence with the full vigour and the resources at their disposal. It is almost as if the ‘sanctity’ of marriage provides the ‘head’ of the family the freedom to ‘discipline’ the spouse’ if and as He sees fit. Breaches of AVO orders seem to continue. We know from the grim statistics that , on average, women will die in the coming weeks and months at the hands of their estranged partner. Yet we seem frozen to our seats. I hope your project yields strategies that provide permanent reassuring preventive protection to women from violence. Thank you.8y
