ADELAIDE TO SYDNEY... REACHING FOR THE STARS... 

Sydney Dance Company host their second Pre-Professional Year in 2015. Over 300 dancers from across Australia and New Zealand auditioned for 25 positions. 
After years of dedication and training in my hometown of Adelaide, South Australia, my hard work has finally payed off and I will take my place amongst 24 of Australia and New Zealand's most talented and up and coming professional dancers.
IN FACT... I will be the only South Australian in the 2015 intake and the FIRST South Australian to enter the program altogether.

WHAT IS SYDNEY DANCE COMPANY's PRE-PROFESSIONAL YEAR 2015 YOU ASK????

SDC's PPY15' is an intensive 1 year Full-Time training program targeted at training its dancers in the fashion of Sydney Dance Company. Much like the daily routine of a Sydney Dance Company dancer, the course offers rigorous training, numerous performance opportunities and a constant stream of networking and workshop experiences with renowned Australian and international choreographers, dancers and artists. 
Ultimately, this opportunity is a 'foot-in-the-door' to one of Australia's leading contemporary dance companies and an incredible stepping stone for any dancer on the path to a contemporary dance company career.

The fee for this opportunity of training full time for 1 year at Sydney Dance Company is AU$13,000. 

Out of 25 dancers, only 1 full scholarship is offered and, unfortunately, my application was rejected and I was not the chosen recipient.

The challenge in this will be raising the money before the Pre-Profesional Year 15'  kicks off in February 2015.
