Songs of the Sea Fundraiser

Hi folks, it’s Dan and David here, otherwise known as Christie & Howell. We are a writer and composer team from Naarm (Melbourne), and we need your help to record our album ‘Songs of the Sea'.

What is Songs of the Sea?

Songs of the Sea is a song cycle of 8 songs about different characters from sea history and mythology. We performed an earlier version of these songs to sell out crowds at Testing Grounds in Melbourne. You can find out more about Songs of the Sea on our website.

Why are we releasing an album of Songs of the Sea?

We have put hours of time, energy and passion into writing Songs of the Sea. Releasing these songs as an album will help us reach new audiences and inspire future live performances of Songs of the Sea by other artists.

Why crowdfunding?

We do our best work supported by those who believe in us and what we write. By donating to this campaign, you're directly helping us achieve our vision of reaching a wider audience. Your support will also help pay our amazing featured artists Jessica Lesley Harris (singer) and Victoria Bilogan (pianist) for the time and skill they have dedicated to this recording. 

Can I get a copy of the final recording?

Yes! The final album will be available for streaming on Spotify, ITunes and other major streaming services. All donors who leave their contact details will be emailed a link to the new album when it's released in mid-2024.
