Back in 2023, my second album, Desire Notes, showed me how to commit to my music more deeply. 

And now, Synthetic Lover, my 3rd full length album, is allowing me to swim beyond the themes of desire I often write about. And look into other themes, including fear, love, death and devotion. 

The recordings for this body of work first came about when I got ross river virus at the beginning of ‘24 and needed a change of scenery, so contacted Roger Bergodaz of Union st Studios (VIC) who Neil Murray had recommended working with when I supported him. Roger has a beautiful home studio in West Brunswick where I was free to put down the songs I had in mind. 

The boldness in bringing The Flames to Victoria with me to finish it meant making something much bigger then myself! Working with these virtuosic women, Julia Bates on harmonies, Skye McNicol on violin and Kathryn McKee on cello, in the studio was absolute bliss!

So! The first round of big spending has occurred! That’s travel, rehearsal, recording and mixing. We were lucky our accomodation was offered to us by our good mates!! 

Now I need your help to pay for:

If we get the money together by these dates, I can order the albums to be made in time for pre - sales & afford to book a special event space for a Synthetic Lover launch party in Brisbane in April 2026!
