Who we are-Company Complesso: Is complex, complicated, whole and intricate. It’s a group and entity that work as an ensemble with integrated practise, to deliver excellence in community work and professional performance. Our work is a confluence of movement styles and theatre that merge to transport a meson sense into a place and time.

Under the direction of Claudia Alessi Company Complesso and STRUT Dance will present the world premiere of  a new full length WA contemporary dance theatre work, In This.

How we will use the funds-The funds will primarily be utilised to assist the production to fruition- namely set construction through Plum Design, any extra AV costs and any extra lighting we may need.

The project / work- Six people living in close proximity; neighbours and acquaintances yet strangers, as they live their own truths online. How and why they are drawn together in reality is explored In This. Scenarios bridging the online and offline realities of the six people make for curious and interesting lifestyle conclusions.

Communication technologies have aided in making people further disconnected from traditional communities and neighbourhood bonds. In This invites the audience to carry in mobile devices and should fate permit take part in the work. You will also be asked to describe your time and interaction with and on Internet culture for purposes…. to be reviled with in the show. Inspired by body languages including AUSLAN as a way to communicate, Alessi has choreographed true meaning into movement.

In This speaks to us all. I see it as a work about fate and the connections we have with others on unrelated paths where we constantly find ourselves ‘in situations’ and ‘in moments’ where we question why or how did we arrive there on or off line.
