Shallow Slumber,written by Chris Lee, is a play that focuses on the relationship between a young mother and her social worker and one terrible event, which devastated both of their lives forever. In this Australian premiere, director Peter Mountford seeks to explore the complexities of the relationship examined in the play as well as the humanity of the characters and the universality of this tragic story of domestic abuse and destruction.

Lee’s script is informed through his personal experiences working as a social worker in the United Kingdom as well as by the high profile ‘Baby-P’ case. This is a rich and layered script that explores the strength, frailty, power and darkness of our humanity. Mountford's interpretation of Shallow Slumber is provocative and moving and will leave you wanting more. 

Under Mountford's direction Catherine Terracini and Rebecca Johnston give outstanding performances which get to the heart of the characters and will leave the audience moved and haunted by the brutal realties of humanity and what we are capable of doing. 

Please help us fund this Amazing project!!!!! We are in the rehearsal stage of the production at the moment and need your help to make this wonderful piece of theatre the best it can be! 

If we raise $1000 - We can print flyers, hire a projector for the performance, advertise so people know that the performance is on and pay the hard working theatre operators. 

If we raise $1500 – We can get a publicist as well who will help attract critics and spread the word!

If we raise $2000 - We will be extremely honoured and will use the extra money to pay our wonderful actors who are so generously donating their time!!!
