It disadvantages the people it is designed to support.

I'm Coral Wilkinson.

Registered Nurse, advocate and carer for my own ageing parents.

I'm leading an emerging niche within Australia's aged care system, being aged care navigation.

I've written this book to answer the questions I'm asked every day and to dispel the myths around the aged care system that prevent people from taking the first step to being assessed for in home support.

With the right knowledge, it is possible for older people to be supported to remain at home.

Why am I using a crowd funding platform as a pre release for my book?

I'm a small business with a big intention.

I have 3 team members who are equally as passionate as me about  getting the right information to older people and their families, so that they receive the support they are entitled to, to remain at home.

Though we post great information on a social channels, blog, and present at community events, it still isn't enough to get the information out to everyone.

Writing this book will serve that purpose, but the intent of using this platform for people to purchase a pre release copy of my book is bigger.

I want to build a community around the book, a community of like minded and passionate people who can help us to help others.

Publishing a book is not an inexpensive task.

I'm self publishing the book but also getting support from my editor for the technical parts of the process that I just can't manage.

The cost to publish the book is $15,465.

When you purchase your book via this campaign, it's helping me off set the cost to publish the book.

The books that will be sold in the bookstores from November will return between $1 and $5 to me.

I know, surprising isn't it?

Just as well money was never the motivator for me to write the book.
