THE PROJECT:

The Walkman Mix is a new novel set in Australia in 1992.

I have been offered a writer's residency in September/October at Hedgebrook
to develop a draft of the The Walkman Mix. Hedgebrook is a retreat on Whidbey
Island off the coast of Seattle, started by a group of women to support other
women writers. Gloria Steinem was amongst them.

As part of the residency I get a hut in the woods, 3 organic meals a day and
a chance to workshop a draft of the novel with other visiting international
women writers. Thanks Gloria!

My plan is to emerge from the woods in October with a really *ace* draft and
submit it for publication.
