I am aiming to tour the USA and need your help! I have finished recording my new EP Kali The Destroyer and plan to take it to North America to tour the west & east coast in 2013. The costs involve are a little out of the independent artist's reach, and that's where you lovely people come in.
Kali The Destroyer was recorded over the last year at Studios 301 with producer and old friend Tim Carr (producer of ARIA award-winning Song Of The Year 'Brother' by Matt Corby). Just me, Tim and an array of instruments, mainly my treasured acoustic guitar. The record is a reflection of past relationships and the human condition... gleaning what you can from each shared experience, good and bad. And the ultimate reality that in order to be emerge one must first be destroyed. Embodied with dream-pop, alt country and frontier folk, it is the work I am most proud of.
I've played all over Eastern Australia and for many years in Sydney's music scene and feel it's now time to go international.
Here's the breakdown of the costs involved:
CD manufacturing = $1500
Plane Tickets = approx $2000
Internal travel = approx $1000
General living for 2 weeks = $1500
Total = $6000
With your help, I can make it happen. If I reach my goal I plan to put on an intimate, free performance which everyone who pledges is invited to which will be filmed and made into a live video. I plan to incorporate into this footage of the tour as well.
