WHAT IS U GARAGE?

U Garage is a 'Do It Yourself' Community workshop. U Garage will be a clean, fully equipped community space where likeminded car lovers can wrench together. Located in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne (Location TBC - Oakleigh, Dandenong, Noble Park or Clayton) you will be able to rent a fully equipped work bay with access to your own vehicle hoist. The U Garage team want to get you off your floor, nature strips and driveways to not only save time and money on vehicle maintenance, but more importantly get that project finished! U Garage will be a communal hub where ideas come to life, and dreams become reality. We plan to be open Tuesday – Sunday 10am – 9pm (we are open to suggestions so let us know what hours you want). We want to have the doors open at the times you need, so late night spanner turning Thursday - Sunday is very likely. We want to provide a facility where working on your car is fun and productive. A place to share knowledge and experience with likeminded enthusiasts, and embrace car culture in a safe, clean environment.

WHY UGARAGE?

The D.I.Y car scene has never been more prominent than it is today. However too many car enthusiasts are deprived of space, the correct tools and motivation to work on their pride and joy. Hard working car owners are paying too much for general vehicle servicing and parts. At U Garage we’re going to change that. We don’t want fellow enthusiasts to struggle with poorly equipped tool kits and lack of workspace any longer. Melbourne’s population growth and space poor inner city dwellings are no place for car enthusiasts, back yard mechanics and custom builders. With the growing success of DIY Garages in the UK and USA we want to bring this unique concept to Melbourne! 

WHY THE NAME U GARAGE?

Put simply, we want:

U to work on your pride and joy more often.

U to save time by using our fully equipped facilities.

U to save money on general vehicle maintenance and modifications.

U to share your experiences and knowledge with like minded enthusiasts.

And we want U to do it all in our garage. U Dream, U Build, U Drive.

WHAT CAN I DO AT U GARAGE?

Everything! U Garage will be your ultimate man cave on demand with all the tools and facilities you could ever dream of. U Garage members will have access to a large communal workshop where they will be able to hire DIY working bays with or without access to a vehicle hoist to work on their vehicle. U Garage will be equipped with all the tools and facilities needed to conduct everything from general maintenance to full rebuilds and restorations making working on your pride and joy safe and easy. We will even order parts on demand for your project and deliver them straight to your work bay. There will also be a member access area to chill out after a hard days wrenching. If that isn't enough, we will also offer maintenance and vehicle modification classes!

We hope this has given you some insight to what we want to achieve, and encourages you to get involved. As you can see, this is going to take a lot of hard work, and require a substantial investment to launch. We need car enthusiasts’ support to make this happen. Our goal is to crowd fund a large portion of the costs involved in setting up the space by pre-selling memberships, and hopefully generous pledges from fellow car enthusiasts and who are excited to get around this great idea!
