Justice Squad US Premiere
UPDATE 20/8/2012 - Gen Con Indy Film Festival wrap up
Well, it's been an amazingly exiting and rewarding weekend, travelling to Indianapolis to screen Justice Squad in the US for the first time. Going into the theatre, I had no idea what sort of a response to expect from an American audience... but I was overwhelmingly surprised and delighted. THEY. LOVED. IT. This screening had the most and loudest laughs of any screening we've had so far. The audience truly embraced the film and I have had an overwhelming response from everyone who saw it. I've made some great contacts here, some of which I am sure to collaborate with in the future, and some who will help me to get the film in front of the right people.
Thank you to you all for supporting my trip, I could not have dreamt of doing it without your help. I will be home in a couple of days and will work on getting all of the rewards signed, packaged and in the post by the end of the week.
Thanks again!
Thank you also to our amazing cast and crew, and the hundreds of people who have made this project a reality.
The pozible campaign will stay active until the deadline of June 12th, and anything we raise over the 100% will go towards getting the film into more festivals around the country and around the world. As always, we will keep you updated via the facebook page at www.facebook.com/justicesquad
Thank you all!
The micro-managing boss, Captain Justice, leads a less-than-super squad of heroes, including the matricidal Dark Avenger, the womanizing Mr Quick, the short-circuiting Electrode and the newest addition to the team, the elusive Mistress Mystery.
The heroes might just get some work done if not for the distractions of the interfering camera crew, a less than ambitious work experience kid, Dark Avenger's meddling mother, and a group of nefarious super-villains who work just down the hall.
As tensions between the heroes threaten to tear the squad apart, will they be able to pull together in time to impress the judges and win the holy grail of super-heroism... the comic book deal?'
Now Justice Squad is leaving Australian shores and heading on over to Indianapolis for its US premiere at the GenCon Indy Film Festival. Writer/Director Daniel Lawrance, has been invited to travel with the film and sit on a number of independent filmmaking panels at the festival... but unfortunately, there's no funding to send him over. That's where you come in! We're looking to raise the funds to help Daniel get to Indy and we need your help.
The goal is to raise $2,200 to cover return flights to Indianapolis.
Rewards! What do you get, besides the warm, fuzzy feeling from helping a struggling artist? Well, we've got a bit of Justice Squad memorabilia to give away to the top contributors, including original story boards, animation artwork, and even a few items that featured in the film.
Thank you all for your support!
