You can help support the world premiere of this dynamic new contemporary ballet by emerging choreographic talent Daniel Jaber.

Jaber has created an entertaining, fiercely physical new work that marries ballet, fashion design, sound and light.

Agile takes on classical ballet's pas de deux and reimagines its power and beauty through the technical genius of four dancers who are anything but typical of principal dancers in a mainstream company.

It has taken the team a long time to secure enough funds from Governmental funding bodies to premiere this exciting new contemporary ballet. In order to see this work through to its fullest potential further funds are needed to employ the dancers for one extra week prior to the works premiere.

Jaber's choreography is known as ballet for a contemporary audience, or "punk ballet". "The dancers showcase the possibility of classical ballet technique at its most liberated. We believe that ballet dancers come in all body types, cultural backgrounds and sexualities. Much like the subject matter of the work we believe in questioning the preconceived ideas of what a ballet dancer is," says Daniel.

Your contribution will have a major impact on this works premiere. At this stage we have only enough funding to bring the dancers back one week prior to the premiere. Jaber's choreography is highly technical, demanding the dancers be incredibly fit as well as having a strong level of classical ballet technique. The additional rehearsal and training time will be invaluable for these four amazing dancers.

How The Funds Will Be Used

The funding sourced from this campaign will go directly toward paying the wonderful dancers who are performing in this work. Those dancers are: Alexander Baden Bryce (Melbourne Ballet Company), Madeline Edwards (Daniel Jaber), Kimball Wong (Australian Dance Award winner 2013 - Outstanding Performance by a Male Dancer) and Kialea Nadine Williams (2008 UK Spotlight Award - Best Female Dancer)

The money raised through this campaign affords us a further week and a half of proper employment of these dancers.

The Challenges

These funds are essential in being able to employ the dancers for the appropriate length of time leading into a season (2 weeks). If we do not reach the target these dancers will only get one week to re-mount the piece, thereby missing out on being able to properly develop their fitness prior to the season.
